Hudson Logistics & Marketing Services (Hudson LMS) is a division of Hudson News Distributors (HND).

HND was founded by Isaac Cohen in 1918, originally known as the Bayonne News Company.   In 1947 Isaac’s son, Robert Cohen, began delivering magazines under the Hudson News Distributors banner.  In 1987 the first Hudson News store opened in LaGuardia Airport.  The expansive retail business was sold in 2008.  Today, HND and Hudson LMS are owned and operated by Robert’s son, James Cohen.

Hudson LMS was formed in 2016 based on the concept that “New Co.” could leverage “Old Co.’s” infrastructure, core delivery and retail merchandising skills, and vast East coast experience to create an extremely cost effective and efficient services option for a broader set of customers.

Hudson LMS provides a full suite of services in the areas of Logistics, Retail Merchandising & In-Store Marketing, and Truckside Advertising.  The company currently serves multiple consumer brands, product manufacturers, signage/display companies and retailers directly.  We also serve these same customers indirectly through relationships with third parties, including; Marketing Services Agencies, Magazine Publishers (Advertising Sales), Private Equity, and others.

James Cohen

Chairman, CEO; Hudson Media

James S. Cohen is President & CEO of Hudson Media, Inc., a diversified business to business services holding company.

In 1980, he joined Hudson County News, his family’s magazine wholesaler distributorship. In the mid 1980s James started a travel retail business, Hudson Group, as an outgrowth of the company’s wholesale business. In 1994, he was named President & CEO.

As of 2008, Hudson Group became majority owned by Dufry AG. The Basel, Switzerland based company is a major multinational airport retail operator. James is a major shareholder of Dufry, and was elected to Dufry’s Board of Directors in 2009. Later that same year, James started Hudson Capital Properties, an owner and developer of multi-family rental properties.

Today, the core business continues on as Hudson News Distributors, the leading magazine distributor in the Eastern U.S., servicing 15,000 retail doors on a weekly basis. In 2016, James established Hudson Logistics & Marketing Services, a business designed to serve consumer packaged goods and general merchandise companies in the areas of logistics/Direct Store Delivery (DSD), in-store marketing and merchandising, and truckside advertising.

Peter Cosco

President; Hudson Logistics & Marketing Services, LLC

Peter B. Cosco is President of Hudson Logistics & Marketing Services. He leads all strategic and operational efforts for the company.

Peter has a deep 20-year background in the Media industry, having led Sales, Business Development and Strategic Development teams at Rodale Press, Time Inc., MTV Networks/Nickelodeon, and Discovery Communications.

Prior to joining Hudson in 2016, Peter spent seven years in the consulting space – as the Global CMO for AlixPartners, and leading efforts in the Media sector, as Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal.

Throughout Peter’s career, he has worked purposefully, creatively and innovatively with Fortune 500 companies across multiple industry sectors to help them solve unique business, marketing and sales challenges. He is a change agent, not satisfied with the status quo – an expert in expanding and creating new channels of profitable and sustainable growth.
